John Jakes

John Jakes is the author of fourteen consecutive bestselling novels, among them the Kent Family Chronicles, the North and South trilogy, California Gold, Homeland, and American Dreams. Considered one of today's premiere authors of historical fiction, Jakes is a descendant of a soldier of the Virginia Continental Line who fought in the American Revolution. He divides his time between Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Greenwich, Connecticut.
